It was the first ever hybrid car developed inPakistan. It received NUST gold medal for best project in mechanical. We made it to top 20 out of 85 worldwide participants and won Shell Eco Off-track Award.
In 2011 we are introducing Devrim II, a successor to the Prodigy and named after the first car ever produced in turkey and the whole muslim world; A tribute to those engineers and to the long forgotten glory we once had.

Botanists discover new Salvadora species in Sindh.
HYDERABAD: Eminent botanists of University Sindh (SU) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tahir Rajput and Dr. Syeda Saleha Hassney have discovered new species of “salvadora” in Sindh.
According to a University spokesman, the new species has been named “Salvadora alii” after a world renowned taxonomist Prof. Dr. Syed Irtifaq Ali, a former vice chancellor of University of Karachi, for his enormous contribution in the field of Botany.
Dr Ali is currently the director of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan Institute of Biology and Genetic Engineering (KIBGE) at Karachi University.
The botanists of the University of Sindh said that the discovered species was misidentified as “salvadora persica” by earlier workers but their new research based on micro-morphological studies of seed, pollen grain and fruit characters clearly indicates that this new species is quite different from already discovered species of Salvadora.
The species was discovered from calcareous rocks of Jamshoro. For this discovery, a large number of living plants and herbarium specimen were examined by botanist and Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences Dr. Muhammad Tahir Rajput and Professor of Botany and former director Institute of Plant Sciences University of Sindh Dr. Syeda Saleha Hasney, during last five years’ period.
Dr. Rajput while highlighting the discovery of new species said that in Pakistan, three species of Salvadora are found which are commonly called Peelu.
He suggested that the government can earn foreign exchange export of this plant with its appropriate promotion.

World's 1st Computer Virus
Brain (computer virus) World's first DOS Virus made by Pakistanies.
©Brain was written by two brothers, Basit and Amjad Farooq Alvi, who lived in Chahmiran near Lahore Railway Stattion, Lahore, Pakistan. The brothers told TIME magazine they had written it to protect their medical software from piracy and it was supposed to target copyright infringers only.
The virus came complete with the brothers' address and three phone numbers, and a message that told the user that their machine was infected and for inoculation the user should call them:
"Welcome to the Dungeon © 1986 Basit * Amjad (pvt) Ltd. BRAIN COMPUTER SERVICES 730 NIZAM BLOCK ALLAMA IQBAL TOWN LAHORE-PAKISTAN PHONE: 430791,443248,280530. Beware of this VIRUS.... Contact us for vaccination..."
When the brothers began to receive a large number of phone calls from people in United States, United Kingdom, and elsewhere, demanding them to disinfect their machines, the brothers were stunned and tried to explain to the outraged callers that their motivation had not been malicious. They ended up having to get their phone lines cut off and regretted that they had revealed their contact info in the first place. The brothers are still in business in Pakistan as Brain NET Internet service providers with a company called Brain Telecommunication Limited

Dr. Siddiqui’s presentation was declared as one of the top three oral presentations in the conference, where a panel of experts decided upon the top three finalists. Another scholar from Peshawar also got prize in the event, where over 200 scientists delivered their presentations from 69 countries.
The inspiring sentence
Dr. Siddiqui is a PhD in organic chemistry and currently working as research officer at International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) at Karachi University.

In that Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman said institutions are not made up from bricks and stones rather they are made up of people who have dreams and vision.
The sentence changed Siddiqui’s vision and she devoted herself to exploring the unknown. In 2005, she joined HEJ and started her Ph. D under supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohammad Iqbal Choudhary, during her Ph.D Studies she worked on the anti-oxidant properties of various chemical constituents, also she got UBF (Umear Basha Foundation) scholarship and went to University of Kansas for one year to excel in Organic synthesis research.
In the Eurasia conference, a shield and certificate was presented to Siddiqui and the organisers also waived the registration fee of upcoming 12 Eurasia Conference on Chemical Sciences which will be held in Greece in 2012.
Siddiqui told, it is not her prize but it is HEJ award because in HEJ every student gets a world class education and training to excel anywhere in the world.
